2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In Review
You must know that the first person to buy a 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid have to play with their other Prius-driving friend: Let them slide behind the wheel and see if they can even say that it is not a standard, third-generation Prius. Very few will be able to tell. That’s how subtle changes between the two vehicles, at least, for someone who does not look too closely. After driving the Prius corded in California recently, we are confident to say that from both outside and behind the wheel, 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in looks, drive and feels pretty much like another example of the world’s most popular hybrid. Of course, it did not receive a Prius several important advances – the hardcore fans will see them soon – but it is more than obvious that Toyota’s strategy with the new model is an evolution, not revolution.
2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In Specs
The changes start with a new package of plug-in lithium-ion batteries. Much smaller than the package used in the two most popular plug-in vehicles on the market, the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in that 176-pound, 4.4 kWh battery offers just enough juice, Toyota says, this 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in has the unique shape for a variety of “electric-only driving to 15 miles at a maximum speed of 62 miles per hour “(More on how this is not true after the jump).
For the sake of comparison, all-electric Nissan Leaf has a range of 73 miles an official from its 24-kWh pack and the Chevrolet Volt is rated at 35 miles on a full cost of the 16-kWh pack before range-extending gas engine kicks in. Of course, for the sake of self-defense , none of the plug-in using all the energy capacity that can store their batteries, though. That said, even though the 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in package is small compared with plug-ins, it’s definitely light years more advanced than 1.3-kWh pack standard Prius’ nickel-metal hydride batteries. If you know nothing else about the changes to the plug-in Prius, this is one for the record.
This 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in is truly impressive car design from Toyota next year.
